Engine 66

Engine 66 was purchased in 2001 at a cost of $400,000.00. Engine 66 is a 6-man cab that holds 1,400 gallons of water and is capable of pumping 1,000 gallons of water per minute. Engine 66 has three 200 feet 1¾ pre-connected speed-lays and one 200 feet of 2½ inch pre-connected speed-lay. It carries 800 feet of 4-inch fire hydrant supply line along with 600 feet of 3-inch fire hydrant supply line. Engine 66 also carries two 4½ inch hard suction hose for drafting water from ponds or creeks in the rural areas. Engine 66 carries six SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) and six spare SCBA bottles. Engine 66 has a 2,000 gallon portable water tank and a 10 KW generator. Engine 66 also carries one 24-foot extension ladder, one 12-foot straight ladder, and one folding attic ladder. Other equipment on Engine 66 is a thermal imagining camera, a four-gas monitor, and a truck mounted deluge (deck) gun which is capable of putting out 250 gallons of water a minute. Engine 66 is the first responding truck to all structures fires, vehicle fires, and first engine for motor vehicle accidents.
